From Volvo to Honda, the Origin of an S2000 Brake Kit

Many automotive enthusiasts tend to have more then one car in their stable. There’s the typical daily driver or the car we care less about. Sure, we take care of this car, but nothing outside the bounds of practicality tends to matter with our daily drivers. That leads us to our fun car, the car that automotive repair and maintenance becomes particularly important to us. I’d like to tell you guys and gals a bit about one particular “fun car” experience involving a close friend, client, and fellow enthusiast Steve Kafasis. Steve is owner of SPK Parts and Service in Fieldsboro NJ, and a loyal customer of ours for many years.

Steve has been purchasing Volvo replacement parts from me for many years now. And he for one knows these things inside and out having repaired everything from the latest models to models dating back to the 60’s and 70’s.

One day while placing an order for me he asks me out of the blue, if I had a brake kit for his 2003 Honda S2000! This had me completely stumped, I was not expecting a Volvo repair specialist to have such a car in his shop, let alone his personal garage. Steve goes into explaining the story of the car and why he is such a fan of it. He explained to me how he enjoyed the weekend drive in the S2K and its fantastic handling characteristics, basically just the way it felt while driving. He also explained that though he has taken good care of the car since he purchased it, he never actually performed a brake job on it. So I link him to the our FCP Import site to check out what options were available. He combed through and saw the various options we had but didn’t come across something he could utilize for his particular situation.

That’s when I mentioned that we can easily put together anything he may be searching for. Having worked with some of our brake kits for Volvo’s he has liked the performance and durability of the Brembo rotors and our Akebono pads. This allowed me to put together the same set up for his S2000.

Honda Brake Kit (S2000)

This kit matches up Brembo standard blank rotors and our ceramic Akebono pads. Making this a great combination for any brake set up. As factory on this model would be weaker semi metallic pads, with less stopping power. Needless to say Steve is happy with his setup he is currently running, and we are going to work on adding a few more things for this model as well as other parts daily for other makes and models. At the end of the day, our customers are the most valuable asset to our business, and as we continue to grow, we want to also make sure we grow our product offerings diversity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
